The programme
At King James’s School, we recognise that, for a variety of reasons, not all our students are able to access the main curriculum, and that this small number of students might benefit from something different.
At King James’s we call our alternative curriculum, Activate. The Activate programme is designed to support students’ progress through King James’s School, by providing them with the opportunity to develop skills and experiences that might not be available or achievable to them within a mainstream educate on. Our programme offers students the chance to become more independent and have a positive experience in both KS3 and KS4. This will allow them to thrive, prosper and succeed at their own pace. Ultimately, we aim to ensure this cohort can achieve, and be successful in their progression to Post-16 education.
Staff
Currently the Activate team has a complement of highly committed, well-qualified teachers working alongside full time non-teaching colleagues, who will support wider approaches.. The current members of the team are:
Jo Fitzgerald (Success for All) | Simon Sykes (Activate Lead) | Jamahl Hunte (Activate Practitioner) |
