Staff Professional Development

At King James's School, we place great value on staff professional development. Whatever your role in school, there is training for you, whether it be delivered by in-house experts, external providers or as part our extensive online offer.

CPD programme

Each year we set out a carefully thought-out and well-devised programme, designed specifically to address identified school improvement issues. Through a combination of Inset days and calendared Monday twilight sessions, the programme may be delivered to the whole staff, curriculum teams or by career-stage.

CPD a constant

A weekly CPD bulletin keeps professional growth at the forefront of our thinking and what we do

Coaching triads

A model, recently introduced to KJS, in which three teachers meet, plan and engage in observation of each other on a regular basis. The coach acts as a guide and external driver, asking  teachers to report on their common focus, how they are evaluating their practice and what they see when observing each other or sharing student work.
