Accommodation and Resources
The school is in an idyllic setting and has substantial grounds – netball/tennis courts, a rugby pitch, 2 football pitches, a cricket pitch and pavilion and an all weather area. Inside the department has a large Sports Hall and a Gymnasium.
Time Allocation
The school operates a 25-period two weekly timetable, with five 60-minute lessons per day.
Currently PE is taught to all students in Key Stage 3 for four periods per fortnight, and in Key Stage 4, for one period per week.
In addition, a high percentage of our students opt for GCSE PE. It is taught for five periods per fortnight.
Schemes of Work
Currently students follow a number of activities including netball, football, rugby, gymnastics, cross-country/orienteering, athletics, rounders.
Achievements
Exam grades at GCSE have been consistently excellent over the last few years achieving some of the best grades across the school.
In competition, the school has had significant success at a local and regional level across a variety of sports.

The school also presents a school (musical) show and a play on an annual basis.
On a biennial basis, the faculty take students on a water sports trip to Barcelona and a skiing trip to Italy. They also run reward trips throughout the year including aerial extreme climbing, swimming and ice-skating.
